The Monache Marauders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 60-59 to Porterville. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Monache in their matchups with Porterville: they've now lost eight in a row.
Despite the defeat, Monache had strong showings from Ty Baxter, who scored 24 points, and Emmett Focke, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and three steals. That was a full 40.7% of Monache's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Isaiah Rogers was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Monache has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-12 record this season. As for Porterville, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-12.
Monache will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Golden West at 7:15 p.m. As for Porterville, they will head out on the road to square off against Mt. Whitney at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
