The Southeast Knights's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their eighth straight loss. They were dealt a 96-19 defeat at the hands of Central. While losing is never fun, Southeast can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 471st, while the Blue Eagles are ranked 106th).
Brandon Moore continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Central, going 6 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 32 points and 4 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Moore has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Tim Wooden, who scored 24 points along with six assists and five steals.
Southeast's loss was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-12. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 23.7 points per game. As for Central, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-5.
Southeast's road trip will continue as they head out to face the at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th. East has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since January 16. As for Central, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bruins at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Rock Bridge knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past ten games -- so hopefully the Blue Eagles like a good challenge.
