The Mapletown Maples lost against the Bentworth Bearcats back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Mapletown suffered a rough 69-44 loss at the hands of Bentworth. Mapletown has not had much luck with Bentworth recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Bentworth found their leader in underclassman Ben Hays, who scored 25 points along with 5 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucas Burt, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 10 rebounds.
Mapletown's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Bentworth, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mapletown will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Frazier at 7:00 p.m. on December 12th. As for Bentworth, they will head out on the road to face off against Jefferson-Morgan at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Jefferson-Morgan focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Saturday.
