Watauga waltzed into their contest on Monday with five straight wins... but they left with six. Everything went their way against the Ashe County Huskies as they made off with a 12-1 win. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 9-3 win last Thursday.
Everett Gryder looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. He is becoming a predictor of Watauga's success: when he allows at most two earned runs the team is 7-1 (and 7-10 when he doesn't).
At the plate, Dillon Zaragoza was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. Maddox Greene was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
