The Archbishop Bergan Knights lost to the Aquinas Monarchs back in December of 2023, but the Archbishop Bergan Knights didn't allow the Aquinas Monarchs the same satisfaction on Tuesday. Archbishop Bergan came out on top against Aquinas by a score of 50-38. The win made it back-to-back wins for Archbishop Bergan.
Logan Eggen continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. He has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Alec Wendt, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 17 rebounds.
Several Monarchs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Garett Novacek, who scored 12 points. Novacek continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Dylan Andel was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Archbishop Bergan pushed their record up to 12-3 with that win, which was their tenth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.4 points per game. As for Aquinas, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Archbishop Bergan will take on Concordia at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Aquinas will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Lincoln Christian on Saturday.
