Highland has enjoyed the comforts of home their last six games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Triad Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Highland will be strutting in after a victory while the Knights will be coming in after a defeat.
Last Tuesday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Highland beat the Panthers 57-51. Given Highland's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 53rd, while the Panthers are ranked 220th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Triad came up short against the Titans on Tuesday and fell 49-39.
Highland has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 19-9 record this season. As for Triad, they now have a losing record at 13-14.
Everything went Highland's way against the Knights when the teams last played back in December of 2023 as the Bulldogs made off with a 64-39 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Highland since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
