Legacy has gone 9-1 against South Gate recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Tigers will head out on the road to square off against the Rams at 2:15 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Legacy lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Norwalk, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Monday's match. The Tigers blew past the Lancers 14-5 on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won 11 contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Katelen Pedroza was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over 4.2 innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Legacy let Alissa Andon and Priscilla Medina run wild. Andon went 3-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI, while Medina went 3-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and one double. Those three RBI gave Medina a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Isabella Medina, who went 1-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
Legacy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, South Gate got the win against Bell last Friday by a conclusive 14-5. With that victory, the Rams brought their scoring average up to 6.1 runs per game.
Barbara Siero spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on 11 hits.
On the hitting side, Veronica Esparza was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Leah Jimenez was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases and four runs.
Legacy pushed their record up to 14-6 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for South Gate, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-13.
Wednesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Legacy hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .345. However, it's not like South Gate struggles in that department as they've averaged .336. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Legacy's way against South Gate when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Legacy made off with a 10-0 victory. Do the Tigers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rams turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
