Ardsley is 0-8 against Albertus Magnus since May of 2016 but things could change on Friday. The Panthers will welcome the Falcons at 4:30 p.m. Ardsley has given up an average of 7.4 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Ardsley managed to slip by Edgemont the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. Ardsley lost 13-7 to Edgemont two weeks ago. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Jonah Goldberg made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those runs marked the first that he has scored this season. Another player making a difference was Hunter Hamlet, who went 1-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.
Meanwhile, Albertus Magnus had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They never let Tappan Zee get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Falcons have posted since May 11, 2025.
Not much got past Derek Sullivan, who gave up just three hits and racked up six Ks to keep Tappan Zee off the board. Sullivan also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Albertus Magnus is 2-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 3-9 otherwise.
Albertus Magnus' victory bumped their record up to 5-10. As for Ardsley, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.
Albertus Magnus' hitters will have their work cut out for them on Friday. Ardsley has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 10 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Albertus Magnus, though, as they've been averaging only 4.1 strikeouts. Will Ardsley keep running through batters, or will the Falcons buck the trend?
Ardsley suffered a grim 12-2 defeat to Albertus Magnus in their previous meeting back in May of 2025. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
