On Wednesday, Central narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Mountain Brook 49-46. Despite the victory, that was the fewest points Central has scored all year.
Meanwhile, Thompson unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Monday. They took a 55-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of Pinson Valley. Thompson has struggled against Pinson Valley recently, as their game on Monday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Central's victory bumped their record up to 13-5. As for Thompson, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 12-3.
