Archimedean is 0-7 against Greater Miami Academy since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. Archimedean will head out on the road to take on the Greater Miami Academy Warriors at 5:00 p.m. Archimedean is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Last Friday, Archimedean beat Horeb Christian 35-26. The win was just what Archimedean needed coming off of a 89-40 loss in their prior match.
Archimedean's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Joseph Vega led the charge by scoring 16 points along with six rebounds and two steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Vega has scored at least a third of Archimedean's points. Johan Basulto was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with 12 rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Greater Miami Academy suffered a tough 50-30 loss at the hands of Jewish Culture on Wednesday.
Archimedean's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-7. As for Greater Miami Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-1.
Archimedean lost to Greater Miami Academy on the road by a decisive 48-31 margin when the teams last played back in November of 2023. Can Archimedean avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
