Menendez was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fifth to third in 5A District 4. Earlier in the week, the Falcons triumphed over Matanzas 27-23.
Ponte Vedra took down Nease 35-7 last week, the largest margin of any game. Cole Mazza ran for 221 yards in the win.
The Pirates' dynamic duo of Jeremiah Wilson and Marquese Jones proved tough for Menendez to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Wilson threw for 90 yards and one touchdown and Jones had 62 yards receiving. Marcaus Cooper helped Matanzas' passing attack out by catching three balls for 18 yards.
Ponte Vedra's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Sharks feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Matt Deegan has thrown for 383 yards and one touchdown this season, while Sam Feidler has eight catches for 152 yards. Mazza leads the league in rushing with 428 yards.
Creekside and Palatka played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Creekside eventually emerging with a 14-13 victory.
