The Cibola Raiders ended up a good deal behind the Estrella Foothills Wolves on Friday and lost 32-16.
Several Raiders players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Damian Camarillo, who picked up 130 receiving yards and one score. Camarillo showed off some serious burst, connecting on a big catch for 60 yards. Marques Montague was another key rusher, rushing for 70 yards and one TD on only eight carries.
Even if they lost, Cibola's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. Leading the way was Daniel Saenz with two. Another thorn in Estrella Foothills' side was Mark Paredes, who picked up a sack, forced one fumble, and made six total tackles.
Will Davis produced another solid effort rushing for 161 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.7 yards per carry for Estrella Foothills. Davis also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, forcing one fumble and making two total tackles. Jacob Rawls also helped out with an impressive 114 receiving yards.
The defeat was their first at home , dropping their record down to 4-2. As for Estrella Foothills, their record is now 6-1.
Looking ahead, Cibola will face off against Yuma at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Estrella Foothills, they will square off against Deer Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Skyhawks will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last.
