After flying high against the Globe Tigers last Monday, the Payson Longhorns came back down to earth. Payson fell just short of Holbrook by a score of 44-42. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss Payson has suffered yet this season.
Several Longhorns players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Lizzy White, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 14 rebounds. White is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Hannah Sarnowski, who scored 16 points along with four steals.
Payson's defeat dropped their record down to 14-6. As for Holbrook, their win bumped their record up to 6-14.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Payson will take on Blue Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Holbrook, they will be playing at home against Winslow at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
