The Pine View Panthers will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against the Crimson Cliffs Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. The pair are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Pine View can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They blew past Cedar 65-41. The win was just what Pine View needed coming off of a 76-56 loss in their prior game.
Pine View's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nash Schroeder, who scored 11 points along with eight assists and five rebounds. It was the first time this season that Schroeder posted eight or more assists. Caleb Schmitt was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, even though Hurricane scored an imposing 58 points on Friday, Crimson Cliffs still came out on top. Crimson Cliffs was the clear victor by a 79-58 margin over Hurricane. Given Crimson Cliffs' advantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 33rd, while Hurricane is ranked 86th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Pine View's victory bumped their record up to 13-8. As for Crimson Cliffs, they now have a winning record of 11-10.
Pine View and Crimson Cliffs were neck-and-neck in their previous matchup back in January, but Pine View came up empty-handed after a 65-64 defeat. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Crimson Cliffs' Sean Felts, who scored 35 points along with seven rebounds and six blocks.
