Basketball Game Preview: Providence Christian Academy Storm vs. Rabun County Wildcats

The Providence Christian Academy Storm will challenge the Rabun County Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Providence Christian Academy is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games.

Providence Christian Academy is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing Lanier Christian Academy: they outscored them in every quarter. Providence Christian Academy was the clear victor by a 52-28 margin over Lanier Christian Academy on Saturday. Given the Storm's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 154th, while the Lightning are ranked 320th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

It was another big night for Ella Truong, who went 8 for 15 en route to 21 points in addition to six boards and three steals. Her evening made it six games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Zoie Cameron, who posted 11 points.

Providence Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive boards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lanier Christian Academy only pulled down three offensive rebounds.

Meanwhile, Rabun County had to suffer through a 61-29 loss at the hands of Banks County. The defeat continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Leopards: they've now lost three in a row.

Providence Christian Academy is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.0 points per game. As for Rabun County, their loss dropped their record down to 11-10.

Providence Christian Academy beat Rabun County 50-40 in their previous matchup back in January. Will Providence Christian Academy repeat their success, or does Rabun County have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
