There's no place like home for the Peak to Peak Pumas, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road back in December of 2023. They came out on top against Liberty Common by a score of 54-41 on Tuesday. Given Peak to Peak's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 122nd, while Liberty Common is ranked 245th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Peak to Peak found their leader in underclassman Tysen Burton, who scored 22 points along with five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Burton has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Cole Boonstra, who scored four points along with seven steals and six rebounds.
Several Eagles players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Max Frevert, who scored six points along with five rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Carson Ford, who scored 12 points.
Peak to Peak now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Liberty Common, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 2-7.
Peak to Peak will be playing in front of their home fans against Kent Denver at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Kent Denver has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 854 points over their last ten contests. As for Liberty Common, they will head out on the road to take on Prospect Ridge Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Prospect Ridge Academy's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
