Springfield has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the St. Helena College and Career Academy Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Springfield focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Tuesday.
Springfield stacked an eighth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard. They were the clear victor by a 61-35 margin over Northlake Christian. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 45-13.
Springfield's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jaci Williams, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds. Anna Richardson was another key contributor, scoring six points along with eight rebounds and five blocks.
Meanwhile, St. Helena College and Career Academy came up short against the Jaguars on Tuesday and fell 45-38.
Springfield has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. As for St. Helena College and Career Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 6-6.
Springfield was able to grind out a solid victory over the Hawks in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, winning 51-41. The rematch might be a little tougher for Springfield since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
