Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Thomas Jefferson Academy fell victim to Bulloch Academy's stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They had to suffer through a rough 41-0 loss at the hands of the Gators. Thomas Jefferson Academy was already down big by the end of the third quarter and they stayed that way after failing to score in the fourth.
Meanwhile, Memorial Day ended up a good deal behind Pinewood Christian two weeks ago and lost 43-27. Despite 54 more yards than Pinewood Christian, Memorial Day couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.
Even though the team lost, they still came through with several impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Assir Best, who rushed for 82 yards and a touchdown. The team also got some help courtesy of Julien Zamora, who picked up 130 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Thomas Jefferson Academy has traveled a rocky road this season, as they've lost six of their first seven contests, which leaves them at a 1-6 record this season. As for Memorial Day, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
