The Lincoln Charter Eagles won the last time they faced the Christ the King Crusaders, and things went their way on Friday too. Lincoln Charter strolled past Christ the King with points to spare, taking the game 53-38. Given Lincoln Charter's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 114th, while Christ the King is ranked 345th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Lincoln Charter got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Justin Hudgins out in front who scored 11 points. Another player making a difference was David Reed IV, who scored ten points.
Despite the loss, Christ the King still got an impressive performance from Parker Ryan, who scored 18 points along with two steals. Ryan is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 17 or more in the last 11 games he's played. Drew Reimels was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Lincoln Charter has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season. As for Christ the King, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-14.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lincoln Charter will take on Bradford Prep at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Bradford Prep focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Friday. As for Christ the King, they will head out on the road to take on Langtree Charter at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Langtree Charter is on a seven-game streak of home losses, Christ the King a five-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change.
