After flying high against Highlands  on Tuesday, Encina came back down to earth. The Bulldogs took  a  3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the John Adams Academy Rsvl/Lin Patriots on Thursday. The Bulldogs haven't had much luck with the Patriots recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.
 Encina started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 21-25, 26-24, 25-14,  25-13.
Their offense was headlined by  Nicole Aguilar Umanzor and  Sarah Cowley, who picked up nine kills apiece. They got some help from  Nyla Pomtong and her 25 assists.
Encina's loss dropped their record down to 11-17. As for John Adams Academy Rsvl/Lin, they have  been performing  well recently as they've  won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 15-10 record  this season.
As of now, neither Encina nor John Adams Academy Rsvl/Lin have any future games scheduled.
