They put the hurt on Franklinton with a sharp 68-44 victory. Given Knightdale's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 38th, while Franklinton is ranked 420th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Jamari Williams was the offensive standout of the game as he scored 9 points along with 11 rebounds and 6 assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Green, who scored 8 points along with 5 steals.
Despite the loss, Franklinton still got an impressive performance from Markelle Massenburg, who scored 17 points along with 9 rebounds and 5 assists. The matchup was Massenburg's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Sean Smith, who scored 9 points along with 5 rebounds.
The win makes it two in a row for Knightdale and bumps their season record up to 5-1. As for Franklinton, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Knightdale will square off against Leesville Road at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Franklinton, they will be playing at home against Granville Central at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Granville Central has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 287 points over their last four games.
