Even though the Hobart Brickies scored an imposing 58 points on Wednesday, the Hammond Morton Governors still came out on top. Hammond Morton secured a 64-58 W over Hobart. The win made it back-to-back wins for Hammond Morton.
Kylah KP Patterson continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a triple-double on 34 points, ten rebounds, and ten steals. That makes it nine consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Hammond Morton's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Layla Macon, who dropped a double-double on 15 rebounds and ten blocks.
Hobart lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Emma Ortiz, who scored 26 points along with six steals. Those 26 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Riley Weber, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds.
Hammond Morton pushed their record up to 10-7-1 with that victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.0 points per game. As for Hobart, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.
Coincidentally, Hammond Morton and Hobart will both be playing Highland the next time they take the court. Hobart will head out to face Highland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while Hammond Morton will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on January 11th.
