West Brunswick had won five straight at home dating back to last season, but on Friday they bumped up to 4-1 to make it six. They secured a 21-16 W over the Laney Buccaneers. For the Trojans, this counts as revenge for the 45-14 victory the Buccaneers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.
It was another big night for Josiah Borton, who rushed for 43 yards and one score, and also threw for 100 yards and one touchdown.
West Brunswick didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. Israel Saunders picked up that interception and then proceeded to rub salt in the wound by taking it back the other way for a touchdown. As for Laney, they now have a losing record of 2-3. Despite 145 more yards than West Brunswick, the Buccaneers couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.
