Last Friday, LBJ Austin took a serious blow against Richards School for Young Women Leaders, falling 45-16.
Meanwhile, McCallum scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They really took it to Northeast Early College for the full four quarters, racking up a 68-11 victory at home. That 57 points margin sets a new team best for McCallum this season.
McCallum's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Sam Cowles, who scored 14 points along with nine rebounds and three steals, and Emy Chen, who scored 19 points along with four steals. Chen has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 13 times she's played. Miranda DiGiovanni was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with six steals.
LBJ Austin's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for McCallum, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-9 record this season.
