New Rockford-Sheyenne's 12-3 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They fell 57-49 to St. John two weeks ago. While losing is never fun, New Rockford-Sheyenne can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked 85th, while St. John is ranked 27th).
Velva can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game last Saturday. They had just enough and edged Garrison out 55-53.
New Rockford-Sheyenne's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Velva, their win bumped their record up to 3-5.
