After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Bryce Valley, Piute was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They skirted past the Tintic Miners 10-9. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Thunderbirds have posted since September 18, 2024.

Brodee Montague made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over four innings pitched. Montague was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, Piute got a big performance out of Pendleton Bowler, who went 1-for-4 with three stolen bases and two runs. Those three stolen bases gave Bowler a new career-high. Braige Beus was another key player, going 1-for-4 with three stolen bases and one run.

Piute now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Tintic, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Piute wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, an 8-2 win against Panguitch on the 9th. As for Tintic, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 21-8 defeat against Bryce Valley on the 9th.
