The Ada Cougars won the last time they faced the Hugo Buffaloes, and things went their way on Saturday too. Ada came out on top against Hugo by a score of 57-48. Given Ada's advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 51st, while Hugo is ranked 241st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Ada's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Carter Colombe, who scored 16 points along with nine rebounds and three blocks. Colombe continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Devon Maccollister, who scored 17 points along with five assists.
Ada has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season. As for Hugo, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.
Ada will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Millwood at 11:30 a.m. on January 18th. As for Hugo, they will play host again and welcome Kingston, where tip off is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
