After two games on the road, Roosevelt is heading back home. They will take on The Littlefield Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Last Friday, Roosevelt lost to Coahoma on the road by a decisive 41-22 margin. Roosevelt was down 34-14 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Despite their loss, Roosevelt saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Nate Casarez, who rushed for 110 yards and a touchdown, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Bartlett, who rushed for 109 yards on only 13 carries.
Meanwhile, Littlefield came up short against Idalou on Friday and fell 39-26. Littlefield has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the defeat, Littlefield had strong showings from Chip Green, who threw for 168 yards and two touchdowns, and Morris Randle, who picked up 133 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Roosevelt's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Littlefield, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 6-3.
Everything went Roosevelt's way against Littlefield when the teams last played back in November of 2022 as Roosevelt made off with a 42-20 victory. Does Roosevelt have another victory up their sleeve, or will Littlefield turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
