After three games on the road, Spring Valley is heading back home. They will take on The Clark Chargers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Last Friday, Spring Valley was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 20-16 to Sierra Vista. Despite 60 more yards than Sierra Vista, Spring Valley couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.
Loss or not, Spring Valley got some senior leadership from Ezekiel Olie who threw for 278 yards and two touchdowns and Antwon Lock who picked up 146 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Clark had to suffer through a rough 47-14 loss at the hands of Desert Oasis. Clark has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Spring Valley's loss was their sixth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 1-6. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 6-1 Perry and 8-3 Las Vegas (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 60.9% over those games). Clark has not been sharp this season, as they've lost five of their first six matchups, which leaves them at a 1-5 record this season.
Spring Valley won a match that couldn't have been any closer in their previous meeting back in October of 2021, slipping by Clark 1-0. Does Spring Valley have another victory up their sleeve, or will Clark turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
