The Nandua Warriors's 15-5 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They fell just short of Lawrence Academy by a score of 70-67. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Nandua lost on Friday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Makai Dorn, who scored 14 points. Another player making a difference was Ny'Zir Dix, who scored 14 points.
Leading Lawrence Academy to victory were Conner Ferebee and Mari Larry. Ferebee scored 20 points, while Larry scored 23 points. The contest was Larry's third in a row with at least ten points. Mike Lee was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Nandua are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5. As for Lawrence Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.
Nandua will be playing at home against Granby at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Granby is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak. As for Lawrence Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Northeast Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Northeast Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 25 two weeks ago.
