There wasn't a ton of movement in the power rankings this week, but there was certainly enough to keep things interesting. That and more in this week's report.
Welcome
Knoxville Central has been an offensive powerhouse for eight straight weeks after the team lit up the scoreboard again last week. It put the hurt on Gibbs with a conclusive 46 - 0 victory. That 46-point margin marks the most Knoxville Central has won by all season. Thanks to its success, Knoxville Central cracked into the power rankings and now occupies the 25th spot.
Can't Touch This
Lausanne Collegiate got a 45 - 7 win over First Assembly Christian last week, and a key reason for the win was senior Eric Gray. Gray rushed for 200 yards and four touchdowns. That performance made Gray one of the best players in the power rankings last week.
This Week's Big Showdown
One of last week's main attractions was the confrontation between Germantown and Whitehaven, 2nd and 15th in the power rankings, respectively. Germantown enjoyed a cozy 37 - 19 win over Whitehaven. As a result, Germantown rose one spot in the power rankings.
Next Week's Big Game
The big showdown in the power rankings this week is between Bearden (21st in the power rankings) and Maryville (5th). The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games. Maryville and Bearden both have plenty of landslide victories under their belts (Maryville with seven and Bearden with four), but only one can come away triumphant this week. We'll find out who that is soon.
