Even though the Fort Dorchester Patriots have not done well against the Stall Warriors recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Fort Dorchester walked away with a 45-35 victory over the Warriors. Winning is a bit easier when you outrebound your opponent 26 to 8 on the offensive boards, as Fort Dorchester did.
Kai Mack was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 16 rebounds. She is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Saniyah Joyner, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds.
Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Logan Collins, who scored six points along with 12 rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Makayla Waiters, who scored ten points.
The win got Fort Dorchester back to even at 11-11. As for Stall, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 15-10.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fort Dorchester will square off against the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. West Ashley is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak. As for Stall, they will head out on the road to take on the Green Wave at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
