After flying high against the Fairmont Heights Hornets last Thursday, the Largo Lions came back down to earth. Largo fell 80-68 to Gwynn Park on Tuesday. Largo has not had much luck with Gwynn Park recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Gwynn Park's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Geornae Davis, who scored 24 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Davis has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Keira Mason, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 rebounds.
Largo's loss dropped their record down to 8-2. As for Gwynn Park, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 10-4.
Largo will head out on the road to square off against Friendly at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Gwynn Park, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Fairmont Heights at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Fairmont Heights will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Maryland Rankings (they are ranked 237th, while Gwynn Park is ranked 68th).
