II Section II recap November 13, 2013
Buena fell to Mesquite 42-27 last week, the largest margin of any game. Rafael Adames threw for 196 yards and 1 touchdown and ran for 30 yards in the loss.
Joey Ash broke off the longest rushing play in II Section II this week with a 71-yard run against the Wildcats. Ash closed out the game, recording 83 yards on the ground as Buena lost to Mesquite.
Ryan Scherling's team's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Ash chipped in 83 yards. Gilbert Pinckney helped Buena's passing attack out by catching 7 balls for 47 yards.
Ash was the best running back in the league this week. Dominique Drake also contributed to the rushing game with 53 yards on the ground.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, the Colts' Adames and Deonte Williams have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-2 quarterback Adames has thrown for 2,964 yards this season, while Williams has 58 catches for 1,103 yards. Daniel Bonn from Sunnyside leads the league in rushing with 1,153 yards.
Accruing a total of 16 touchdowns this year, Adriell Alvarado has thrown for 1,811 yards with 4 interceptions.
So far this year, he has garnered 47 catches for 954 yards.
Sahuaro led II Section II in points allowed with 34.
