Powers Catholic took their contest on the road on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 76-44 victory over Carrollton. Given Powers Catholic's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 27th, while Carrollton is ranked 146th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Among those leading the charge was Javontae Ross, who scored 14 points along with 7 assists and 6 steals. The contest was his third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Christian Dedivanaj, who scored 15 points along with 6 rebounds.
Powers Catholic's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Carrollton, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-4.
Powers Catholic will be playing in front of their home fans against Plymouth Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Plymouth Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 last Thursday. As for Carrollton, they will head out on the road to face off against Millington at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
