The Syracuse Bulldogs came into Tuesday's matchup having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against Wiley by a score of 41-28 on Tuesday. The win was just what Syracuse needed coming off of a 45-19 loss in their prior contest.
Wiley's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Rachel Kopasz, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was McKenzie Mapes, who scored six points along with eight rebounds.
Syracuse's victory bumped their record up to 5-9. As for Wiley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Syracuse will face off against the Jackrabbits at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Kansas (Greeley County is ranked 211th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 201st). As for Wiley, they will head out on the road to take on the Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Cheyenne Wells focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 last Saturday.
