Jackie Jimenez continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 236 yards and seven touchdowns, while also rushing for 40 yards. Those seven passing touchdowns gave her a new career-high.
Desert Vista didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Avery Collins, Juno O'Hagen, and Arrianna Delgado picked up one apiece. O'Hagen has been hot recently, having also posted at least one sack the last three times she's played.
Meanwhile, Mountain Ridge posted their closest win since November 7, 2024 on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out Prescott 20-17. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Mountain Lions.
Mountain Ridge found their leader in sophomore Amiaya Tice, who threw for 279 yards and three TDs, and also rushed for 62 yards on only eight carries. A healthy portion of Tice's aerial production (81 yards to be exact) went to Cameron Mailloux, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.
Desert Vista's record is now 4-1. As for Mountain Ridge, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.
