You might not recognize the power rankings this week after a busy last week rearranged the teams a whole lot. Among the action were the efforts of St. Thomas More's junior Caleb Holstein, an offensive menace who scored five total TDs.
Welcome
After a comfortable win over Pine Prairie in the match before, Church Point might have felt a bit of anxiety in its most recent match. Church Point had just enough, edging out Eunice 22 - 20. The result was just as the MaxPreps state rankings suggested, although the scoreline definitely wasn't as one-sided as expected. The win also thrust Church Point into the power rankings, where the team now holds the 20th spot.
Can't Touch This
St. Thomas More got a 56 - 21 win over Franklinton last week, and a key reason for the win was junior Caleb Holstein. Holstein tossed the ball for 447 yards and four TDs. That performance made Holstein one of the best players in the power rankings last week.
Movin on Up
Terrebonne has been an offensive powerhouse for three straight weeks after the team lit up the scoreboard again last week. Everything went its way against Hahnville as it secured a 41 - 0 win. Senior Chaz Ward deserves a lot of the credit as he rushed for 136 yards and three touchdowns. The success catapulted Terrebonne 16 spots up the power rankings, enough to make it the biggest riser of the week.
Next Week's Big Game
If you are itching to watch a first-rate contest, no game is supposed to fit the bill better than the one between Jesuit (13th in the power rankings) and John Curtis Christian (2nd). This will be the second consecutive road game for John Curtis Christian. Only one team will win this week, so we'll find out which team fails to repeat its success.
