The Richmond Red Devils will be playing at home against the Harrison Raiders at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Richmond has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Richmond stacked an 11th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Centerville 71-30 at home. Given Richmond's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 24th, while Centerville is ranked 214th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Richmond's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Mason Carpenter led the charge by scoring 18 points. Carpenter continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Cedric Horton, who scored 17 points.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Harrison beat Merrillville 56-52 on Saturday.
It was another big night for Malachi King, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds. He has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ray Gibson, who scored eight points.
Richmond's victory bumped their record up to 17-1. As for Harrison, their victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-8.
