Polk County suffered their biggest defeat since December 27, 2023 on Tuesday. They were the victim of a rough 85-65 defeat at the hands of Brevard. Polk County was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 54-31.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Aaron Jackson, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 rebounds. He has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Gunnar Alm, who scored 18 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Patton came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.5 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 65-56 victory over Hendersonville.
Polk County's loss was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Patton, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-2 record this season.
Polk County took a serious blow against Patton in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 64-24. The contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Polk County was down 41-10.
