The Everglades Prep Academy Panther had to hit the road for their first game and sadly it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They were outmatched by Sunset on the road and fell 66-24. Everglades Prep Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 33-11.
Sunset got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Felipe Gomez out in front who scored 17 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals. The matchup was Gomez's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jonathan Clarke, who scored 8 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals.
Everglades Prep Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Sunset, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Everglades Prep Academy will challenge Somerset Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Somerset Prep comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Sunset, they will head out on the road to face off against Reagan at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
