Pleasant Valley took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They never let Allentown Central Catholic get on the board and left with a 15-0 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Bears considering their one-run performance the game before.
Kailyn Getz made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Getz was even better at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Brianca Pridham was incredible, scoring a run while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Jovie Valenzuela, who scored a run while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
Pleasant Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .767. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 33 runs the game before, Pocono Mountain West was a bit more limited in their match on Friday. They came up short against Parkland, falling 13-2. The contest marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.
Pleasant Valley now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Pocono Mountain West, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
Tuesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Pleasant Valley hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .397. However, it's not like Pocono Mountain West struggles in that department as they've averaged .318. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
