Basketball Recap: Carsen Beal Key Part of a Team Effort in Plainsmen Win

On Saturday, the Oakley Plainsmen were able to grind out a solid victory over the Rawlins County Buffaloes, taking the game 55-42. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Plainsmen.

Oakley's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Carsen Beal, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine boards. That's the most boards Beal has posted since back in December of 2023. Carter Selensky was another key player, putting up 12 points.

When it comes to explaining why Rawlins County lost, don't look at Tru Dewey. Despite the final result, he posted ten points along with seven rebounds and three blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Shaun Lare, who put up five points and four steals.

The victory got Oakley back to even at 2-2. As for Rawlins County, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Oakley and Smith Center will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Rawlins County will take on Cheylin in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
