The Shishmaref Northern Lights's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They fell 64-52 to Scammon Bay.
Shishmaref's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Fred Olanna, who scored 17 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Olanna has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ivan Davis-Nayokpuk, who scored 13 points.
Shishmaref's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Scammon Bay, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-2.
Shishmaref and Shaktoolik will face off at 1:30 p.m. on January 13th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
