If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Kaplan. They will challenge North Vermilion on the road at 7:00 PM on Friday. Kaplan don't have the home-field advantage, but they do enjoy an advantage in the MaxPreps rankings.
Kaplan brought a two-game winning streak into their contest against Erath last Friday; they left with a three-game streak. Kaplan came out on top against Erath by a score of 28-14. The team accrued the bulk of their points in the first half (22) and coasted on those for the victory.
Meanwhile, after having lost a blowout in their matchup two weeks ago against Erath, North Vermilion were happy to find some success last Friday. North Vermilion walked away with a 36-27 win over Abbeville.
Kaplan took their match against North Vermilion the last time the two teams met by a conclusive 31-7 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for Kaplan since the team won't have home-field advantage. Watch the game and check back on MaxPreps to see if the change in venue makes a difference.
