It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Rockmart Yellowjackets had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They breezed by Washington at home to the tune of 28-0. The win was familiar territory for Rockmart who now have eight in a row.
Among those leading the charge was Calliyon Thompson, who threw for 223 yards and two touchdowns while completing 93.3% of his passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground.
Rockmart has yet to lose a matchup at home this season, leaving them with a 9-2 record. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 48.0 points per game. As for Washington, their loss dropped their record down to 3-8.
Rockmart will play host again and welcome Union County, where kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Washington does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
