Meanwhile, Central didn't have too much trouble with Academy Charter at home on Saturday as they won 59-43. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Central.
West Side's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Central, they pushed their record up to 2-0 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.
West Side skirted past Central 55-52 in their previous meeting back in January. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Central's Hazir Lee, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks.
