Unity Christian won the last time they faced Maroa-Forsyth and things went their way on Thursday too. The Lions narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Trojans 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Lions have posted since October 22, 2024.

Unity Christian had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 19-25, 25-21, 25-15.

Mallory Harrison paced Unity Christian's offense, picking up 13 kills. Harrison were helped by Sadie Reiterman and Abby Jones, who contributed 17 assists each. Finally, Brielle Bunch kept Unity Christian's defense grounded, leading the team with six blocks.

Maroa-Forsyth's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Diya Parekh, who had ten digs and one assist. Another player making a difference was Lainey Larner, who had ten digs.

Unity Christian's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Maroa-Forsyth, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.

Unity Christian has already played their next matchup, a 1-0 win against Delavan on the 6th. As for Maroa-Forsyth, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Meridian on the 6th.
