Softball Recap: Gainesville Has No Trouble Against Osbourn

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Riverside, Gainesville was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Osbourn Eagles as they made off with a 13-2 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Cardinals considering their one-run performance the game before.

Marley Williams was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameryn Denhup, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases and three runs.

Gainesville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .485. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Gainesville's victory bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Osbourn, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-7.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Gainesville will take on rival Freedom at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Osbourn is set to challenge their familiar foe Battlefield at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
