Cathedral faced Carmel in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Fighting Irish walked away with a 2-0 win over the Greyhounds. The Fighting Irish haven't had any issues with the Greyhounds recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Ryan Peterson paced Cathedral's offense, picking up six kills. Peterson got some help from Nick Whitley and his 14 assists. Peterson also made an impact serving: he shared the team lead in aces with Cael Persic, racking up two apiece.

Cathedral's win bumped their record up to 22-4. As for Carmel, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-9-1.

Cathedral wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Lincoln-Way East on the 9th. As for Carmel, they will challenge Zionsville at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
